Velvet Image

Velvet is one of those OCs I made when I was like 13 or 14 who's evolved rent free in my head for like, forever. They're nostalgic in that sense. At first she was just generally cookie cutter, all I really was certain on was that she would have a silly attitude and wear a red hoodie. Also, because I made her for some creepypasta thing my friend was in she was also a cannibal? But that idea didn't really end up sticking. Around the time I was kind of into object shows, particularly one called bfb that had been rebooted/restarted. I really liked the main host of the show, 4. They were an all powerful algebraian (basically just living numbers in the object universe) and he was fucking scary, and generally a really funny character. Basically he could level mountains, errect structures from nothing, also just generally kill conestants and bring them back to life at will. It was a scary dynamic, but also really intruiging, and it got me thinking about adding more depth to a character like that. That's when I decided to make a "god character." Not a mature god, mind you, more like a human with indefinite power. Usually that sort of thing would be kind of finnicy in story senarios, seeing as they have nothing hypothetically that can't be solved. But, with Velvet her own conflicts are derrived from being able to solve everything. Her mind is that of an artist, building worlds and senarios she doesn't care to participate in but just watch.

Velvets design really hasn't changed much from when I first made them, funnily enough. The most change I've made is that I first thought they would wear a hood over their head all the time, but scrapped it cuz it doesn't make a ton of sense. But I designed them with long, dark black hair, a red hoodie and shorts, toned skin and deadened eyes. I don't remember what inspired me to give her that but I think it fits her character somewhat. Like Eden, she is immortal, but in a different way, she's got a complex mode of existence energy, deep lodged within the fibers of her being. Her body is lush and perfect, and alterable at any time, but somehow her eyes are still glasslike, unalive to match the rest of her expressive features. They encapsulate that despite everything, she was once, and still is human, even if that part of her seems dead.

This character is for general use, but they have a "universe" of sorts just titled VSA (velvet silly adventures) that I used to work on with my friends at school. Well, more like one friend but whatever. We still talk about it sometimes.
